Acclaris-University of Burdwan to set up ‘BUAcKLab’

Kolkata based Acclaris Business Solutions Pvt. Ltd., the wholly owned Indian subsidiary of US based Acclaris Inc, a technology-enabled KPO Company and The University of Burdwan, a B++ rated University of West Bengal, announced the setting up of their Joint Learning Initiative in the form of a KPO Lab, named “BUAcKLab” within the University premises. Dr. Debesh Das, Minister-in-Charge, Department of Information Technology (IT), Government of West Bengal inaugurated the KPO Lab in Burdwan recently.

The KPO Lab will be operated under the “Center for Human Resource Development” of The University of Burdwan, which has been recently set up with an objective of bringing together industry and academia with the view of making its students “industry ready” and consequently, more marketable for employment through real-life guidance from industry experts.

Kalyan Kar, Managing Director, Acclaris (India) said: “Acclaris has, in the past, recruited a number of students from Burdwan University and the excellent quality of the students encouraged us to begin this partnership. We are extremely gratified by the encouragement that it has received not only from the Professors and Departmental Heads but also from the Vice Chancellor of this University and acknowledges the great contribution from them to make this joint initiative successful, right from the planning to the execution level.”

The students have been selected recently through a written examination and a personal interview jointly conducted by Acclaris and BU at the University campus. The classes for the first batch have started and will provide the required learning in both hard and soft skills.

At the end of this three-month training, which includes two months of theoretical classes at the University premises, the candidates will undergo practical training at our Service Center, Kar added. The successful candidate will be awarded a Joint Certificate by Burdwan University and Acclaris and also an employment opportunity with Acclaris or with any other BPO/KPO companies of repute.
